Prof. Mehmet Saraç received his undergraduate degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration in 1990. He received a Masters degree in Accounting and Taxation and worked for Financial Regulation Project for Washington D.C. government. Subsequent to his return to Turkey in 1988 he started his PhD in Finance in Boğaziçi University. He taught at Mersin University for a short period and was assigned to Sakarya University as Assistant Professor in 2007. He became Associate Professor of Finance in 2012. In 2016, he has been appointed as the Director of Center for Islamic Economics and Finance at Istanbul University. He currently teaches corporate finance, Islamic finance, capital markets and institutions and other related courses.
