"Basic Education in Islamic Economics" Program Held in Ankara

Foundations of Islamic Economics program was organized by IKAM to make this concept comprehensible for every researcher who has started or is considering to start working in the field of Islamic economics.

Before starting to work in the field of Islamic Economics, it is aimed that the researcher should have requisite knowledge about basic concepts related to Islamic economics and the basic principles and the components of a viable system. In this regard, IKAM in cooperation with the Institute of Islamic Thought organized a two days Islamic Economics Basic Training Program in Ankara on November 30-December 1, 2019.

The training program received great interest from the researchers. The opening session of the program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez. Different presenters made presentations on different topics including Cem Korkut on "Emergence and Development of Islamic Economics", Fevzi Mutlu on "Zakat Institution in Islamic Economics", Taha Eğri on "Islamic Economics in the Face of Current Economic Problems", Hamdi Çilingir on "The Principles of Islamic Economy", Celal Türer on "Economics and Morality" and Hakan Sarıbaş on "Basic Components of Islamic Economic System". Many students, academicians and professionals participated in the program.

Students who attended the program were satisfied with the training and wanted IKAM to continue such activities. After two days of training, the participants received their training certificates from Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez, President of the Institute of Islamic Thought.
